About Me
[View Member Profile]

I am a self-taught artist specializing in abstract and expressionistic sculpture and painting. I have recently started exploring the world of representational art.

Each of my creations is an original, and one of a kind.

I use almost anything in my work and no found object is safe. In fact, my interest in art was born out of my desire to reduce my ecological footprint. I found that there were too many ‘perfectly good’ items that couldn’t be recycled or re-used (for their original purpose) and went about finding uses for these pieces of trash in practical, and/or beautiful ways.

Problem solving is a strong suit here, as well as persistent trial and error! I'm just glad to have discovered a fun purpose for my good math brain.

Because I practice outsider art there is always the risk of alienating the audience. In an effort to evolve in my practice, I am trying to approach my art, of late, in terms of marketability.

I also have experience developing and facilitating therapeutic art programs (children, teenagers and adults). Ultimately, I will pursue a university education to work in art therapy as I continue working towards becoming a fine artist.
